Eater Scenes| Columbia Restaurant Visit

Not only did I have one of my very first ‘fine dining experiences’ as a teenager at Tampa’s landmark Spanish eatery, the Columbia Restaurant, it remains one of my favorite restaurants, to this day.
Thus, how fun it was to create imagery of the restaurant while I was in the area a couple weeks back for Eater’s ‘Eater Scenes,’ which is a ‘photo series in which photographers visit some of the world’s great restaurants to capture them at a certain, and very specific, point in the day – from high stress to lighter moments.‘

Capturing the essence of an environment, place, and/or people, is a very different experience from planning, styling, creating – essentially having total control over the shoot. There is an excitement in anticipating a shot, and to be on the ready to capture what is happening at any moment. Though a bit more stressful….I do love the imagery that comes from the energy and moments of this kind of photography. The Columbia, and it’s staff did not disappoint. Thank you Angie, and all the staff, who were so incredibly wonderful allowing me to follow, float and be everywhere while the restaurant was operating at full capacity.
